DUBAI: Emirati residents in parts of the country woke up to a foggy morning on the first working day of the year. If you leave early, be aware of poor road visibility due to heavy fog.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a fog warning this morning, which said: “Fog is likely to form and horizontal visibility has deteriorated until 8.30am this morning, with some inland and coastal areas experiencing further declines in horizontal visibility.”

Motorists are advised to drive carefully due to poor road visibility.

Over the sea and islands it will be sunny to partly cloudy and sometimes cloudy, according to the NCM. Interior areas will get wet overnight and Tuesday morning.

Maximum temperatures in the interior of the country are expected to be between 24 and 27°C. Temperatures will reach 22 to 25°C in coastal areas and islands, and 10 to 18°C ​​in mountains.

Seas in the Arabian Gulf will be relatively calm to moderate, with rough seas at times towards the west and slightly choppy seas in the Sea of ​​Oman.
