NCM forecasts more rain this week with possible showers on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
After two days of continuous rain, a rainbow has formed on the horizon over the beaches of the UAE. Weather-related social media channel Storm Center posted this stunning video showing a fully formed rainbow lighting up the morning sky over Ras Al Khaimah.
The Ras Al Khaimah government media office released another video showing waterfalls gushing from the emirate’s mountains and valleys.
The UAE saw light to moderate rain for the third day in a row, with the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reporting showers in parts of Abu Dubai, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.
The NCM is forecasting more rain this week, with showers possible on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures are also expected to drop further.
Explaining the reason for the current weather, NCM experts said that the country was affected by the extension of the high-altitude jet stream from the west, accompanied by the formation of different cloud formations, accompanied by a trough of low pressure on the surface.
Asked if this was the result of rain enhancement efforts, Dr Ahmed Habib added: “Cloud seeding is always done whenever there are clouds that meet certain criteria and are suitable for seeding. Cloud seeding is done regularly in the UAE whenever there is rain .”
