Fort Worth, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — Fort Worth’s most famous entertainment district is gearing up for a fan party Monday night when TCU takes on Georgia in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
Crockett Row will be hosting a free block party for fans to gather.
“We decided to work with the city to see if we could close the streets and throw a party for everyone to celebrate TCU’s hopeful national championship,” said Moody Younger, co-managing partner of Younger Partners, owner of Crockett Row.
They’ll be food trucks, live music and entertainment, and the Movie Tavern will show games on big-screen TVs, with two 25-foot outdoor TV screens outside.
From 3pm all Crockett Row garages will have free parking with validation
Younger added, “We want everyone to come enjoy and own, and be able to leave without paying for parking, as soon as they come to our premises.”
Bars and restaurants such as Concrete Cowboy, The Social House, Mash’d will be open.
The owners of The Social House told CBS 11 News they will be adding staff to accommodate the crowd and will be adding several new purple drinks called Hypnotoad Margarita and Frog Water seltzer, among others.
In order to ensure the safety of tourists, the organizer will strengthen the security.
“We’re working with the police, we have off-duty officers, we have multiple officers who will be at the event, and then the Fort Worth police will be there directly,” Young added.
Block party from 5pm to 2am
Kick-off for the game is 6:30 p.m.
