Central Hotels & Resorts, the UAE’s leading hotel management company, will continue to focus on attracting tourists from Central Asia this year as the emerging market plays a key role in its hotel performance in 2022.
Guests from India and China top the list of countries booking rooms at C Central The Palm, Royal Central The Palm and Canal Central Business Bay during summer and festive seasons.
Overall, other markets such as Saudi Arabia, the UK, France, Germany and the GCC continue to generate strong volumes for the central cluster.
“We delivered solid results in 2022, with room revenue growth of over 30% at our hotels compared to last year. We have seen additional revenue from the Israeli and Central Asian markets, but there are still new countries to develop, So that’s our focus for this year. Air travel was strong in the last quarter of last year and we expect that to continue throughout the year,” said Abdulla Al Abdulla, chief operating officer and group general manager.
According to STR, Central Hotels & Resorts will achieve 90% occupancy in the first half of 2022, topping its category, citing high room-per-night rates at C Central Resort The Palm and Royal Central Hotel The Palm .
Most of the bookings hotels received last year, especially during festive seasons, came from online travel agencies, hotel websites and other online channels, as the group boosted OTAs’ online and online platform ratings.
Furthermore, Al Abdulla attributed the group’s strong performance to the lifting of Covid-19 precautionary measures and restrictions by the government, which resulted in more tourists entering the UAE. Additionally, Expo 2020 is a strong catalyst for the recovery of the country’s hospitality and tourism industries.
“There is a lot of excitement in 2023, especially in hospitality and tourism. Expect a surge in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) and house parties. Dubai has also announced long-awaited citywide events and festivals for 2023 , to attract tourists and spark interest among UAE residents,” concluded Al Abdulla. – trade arab news agency
