Black professionals are woefully underrepresented in executive decision-making roles across the industry, according to a McKinsey & Company report on black representation in film and television.Studies show that 87% of TV and 92% of film executives are white, and diverse representation was created to bridge the gap.
Diverse Representation was founded in 2018 to increase the recruitment and exposure of Black professionals and creators in the entertainment and sports industries. The organization created and hosted the event earlier this year to elevate black talent and place them at the forefront of entertainment opportunities.
On January 12-14, 2023, Diverse Representation will host the inaugural Live and Virtual Black Entertainment Career Summit at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA. Attendees will experience an in-person networking reception on January 12th from 6:00-8:00 pm and a full day of programming on January 13th from 9:00-6:00 pm, followed by a fully virtual Those who cannot be there for three days, January 14th, 9:00-6:00 pm.
The three-day summit will feature a robust lineup of programming, including panel discussions, fireside chats, and networking opportunities with recruiters, executives, and talent acquisition professionals from top companies in the industry.
