ABU DHABI, 12th January, 2023 (WAM) — President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Pakistani Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif, who is currently on a working visit to the UAE .
During the meeting at the Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, they discussed the longstanding historical ties between the UAE and Pakistan and ways to strengthen cooperation and broaden horizons in the best interests of the two friendly countries and peoples in various fields, especially trade, Coordinate efforts to achieve sustainable development in economic and other areas of cooperation.
The two sides reviewed several regional and global issues of mutual concern and exchanged views.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit, stressing that the UAE supports Pakistan in everything it can to achieve development and stability, given the historical ties and friendship between the two countries.
The Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the friendly relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE President for his continuous support to Pakistan in the field of development.
In this regard, he also appreciated the urgent initiatives taken by the UAE to enhance Pakistan’s assistance to those affected by floods and heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed and His Highness Sharif witnessed the announcement of three MoUs.
The first is a training collaboration between the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) and the Diplomatic Academy, another is a collaboration in combating human trafficking, and the third is a news collaboration between the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and the Pakistan News Agency.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also hosted a banquet in honor of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; His Excellency Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; His Excellency Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the Presidential Court on Special Matters; Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the UAE; Mohammad Hadi Al Husseini, Minister of State for Finance ; Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, and other officials.
The Pakistani side was attended by Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari; Pakistani Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar; Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif; Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafeeq, Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb; Council Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain; Federal Minister of Commerce and Investment Sainavi Karma; Federal Minister of Communications; Maulana Asad Mahmood; Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Kar; Special Assistant to Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi.
The Pakistani prime minister was received by Economy Minister Abdullah bin Touk Mali and several officials on his arrival in Abu Dhabi earlier.
