Famous for its daring thrill rides, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi certainly lives up to the hype with its new mega coaster, Mission Ferrari, which opened on January 12. The Mission Ferrari was first revealed in 2014 and will begin testing in 2021. Currently listed on the official website as operating daily from 2:00pm to 8:00pm.
it is advertised as “The World’s Most Immersive Giant Roller Coaster”The guests are asked to complete a mission to safely transport a top-secret Ferrari spy car to a Ferrari factory hidden deep in Maranello, Italy. This multi-sensory 5D coaster includes 5 high-speed LSM launches, a backwards inverting loop and the world’s first side coaster drop. Each car has 9 riders, the track is 541 meters, and the top speed of the giant roller coaster is 72 kilometers per hour.
As you can see from the embedded POV above, most of the coaster is set indoors, except for the short exterior section that includes an inversion. You can also clearly see that some of the attractions are set in the dark, and it’s broken up into sections that alternate between projections and coasters, then back to projections and visuals, and coasters again.
The full experience lasts less than four minutes, so visitors are sure to leave the attraction feeling satisfied.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi also has the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa, accelerating from 0 to 240 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. It also has Flying Aces, which has the tallest roller coaster loop in the world.
