Katy Perry has revealed that she regretted being offered the chance to work with Billie Eilish but turned it down.
Posted on TikTok 102.7 Case FM Friday, January 27, 2023 American idol Judge, 38, told the audience at a seemingly intimate concert that she had been asked to co-produce Eilish’s debut single, eye of the ocean – before the 21-year-old went on to become a Grammy winner, via people magazine.
Perry shared with the crowd that someone “sent me an email once and said, ‘Hey, look at this new artist. I really want to work with her because she’s with me for Unsub Work [Records]”
“That’s a song called’eye of the ocean,’ That’s just a blonde girl,” Perry continued. “I was like, ‘Well, boring.’ “
Perry’s eyes widened and she admitted, “Big mistake. Big mistake.” Then she joked, “Don’t let this go online.”
The two musicians later became friends, as shown in Eilish’s 2021 documentary, Billie Eilish: The world is kind of blurry, When Perry introduced herself and her then-fiancé Orlando Bloom to the young singer, she didn’t initially recognize her Pirates of the Caribbean actor.
