New Delhi [India]29th January (ANI): Foreign Minister Meenakashi Lekhi will be on a two-day visit to Greece starting 30th January, according to an official press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Lekhi will hold discussions with Greece’s foreign and culture ministers, the MEA’s press release said. Lekhi will also interact with various segments of the Indian community, friends of India, academicians and Indologists. This visit will further strengthen the long-term friendly relations between the two countries and provide opportunities for further exploring new ways of cooperation.

Additionally, she will take part in a special yoga event as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebration and will lay flowers in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Athens, according to the same press release.

This follows Lekhi’s four-nation official visit to Latin America and the Caribbean on January 20 and a bilateral visit to Bolivia on January 20. This is her first visit to the country, and it has been almost four years since the President’s state visit from India to Bolivia in March 2019.

During her visit to Bolivia, she met with Bolivian Foreign Minister Rogelio Mehta and held comprehensive discussions on all relations in the bilateral, regional and multilateral spheres.

During the meeting, discussions focused on several important areas, including long-term partnerships in lithium and batteries, cooperation in metals and minerals, health and pharmaceuticals.

She also interacted with Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Erwin Freddy Mamani Machaca and Undersecretary for Foreign Trade and Integration Benjamin Juan Carlos Blanco Ferri.

Discussions on the bilateral side focused on all important areas, including long-term partnerships in lithium and batteries, metals and minerals, health and pharmaceuticals, traditional medical systems, space, development cooperation and capacity building, cooperation in trade and business promotion, energy , railway infrastructure construction, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and the convenience of business travel.

The two sides agreed to take action on various matters to further strengthen bilateral contacts and achieve desired outcomes. MOS invites Bolivian nationals to take advantage of India’s capacity building support through ITEC, ICCR, SSIFS and other specialized centers of excellence. In addition, the two sides also discussed regional issues and cooperation opportunities.
