Islamabad [Pakistan]Jan 30 (ANI): Pakistan Justice Instigation (PTI) Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhry, fearing torture in prison, lodged a complaint with the Kohsar police station on Sunday, Pakistan-based Geo News reported. The magistrate submitted an application for a medical examination.

In his petition, the PTI leader said the failure of the federal police to conduct a medical examination on him violated constitutional rights.

He claimed that the police had physically and mentally tortured PTI leaders, Senator Azam Khan Swati and Shahbaz Gill.

“Police are probably going to do the same thing as they have done in the past, and that’s why they didn’t medicalize me,” he said, as quoted by Geo News.

He urged the court to take immediate notice of the breach of the order.

Islamabad police have transferred Chowdhury to Lahore, where he will conduct photogrammetry tests, Geo News reported. His voice will be matched in a forensic laboratory.

On Wednesday, Choudhry was charged with sedition for allegedly threatening members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during a media talk.

According to Geo News, the Kohsar police station in Islamabad filed a complaint against Chaudhary based on a complaint from Election Commission Secretary Umar Hameed.

Hameed’s FIR cited a controversial speech by Chaudhry in which he said that “those who are part of the caretaker government (Punjab) will be hunted down until they are punished” .

Chaudhary’s two-day physical remand was recently approved by the Islamabad Sessions Court in the sedition case.

The eight-day remand in person was dismissed after the district and session courts asked authorities to bring the leader to court on Jan. 27, Geo TV reported. (Arnie)
