Italian national stripper booked on Abu Dhabi-Mumbai flight

A 45-year-old woman from Italy has been booked by Mumbai police after a crew member of Vistara Airlines complained that she caused a commotion on the Abu Dhabi-Mumbai flight. According to the complaint, the woman allegedly manhandled and spat on a crew member and stripped off her clothes on the plane after arguing with the crew.

According to police officials, the incident happened after the plane took off from Abu Dhabi at 2.03am (IST) on Monday.

The complainant, Labat Khan, has worked for the airline for five years and is an Abu Dhabi-Mumbai flight. In her complaint to the police, Khan said the Italian national left her assigned seat (11C) at around 2.30am and took a seat in business class.

“Shortly after, a crew member asked if she needed help,” an officer added, “but she did not acknowledge their presence. After this, they asked her to go back to her seat as she had booked an economy class seat. “

The woman then allegedly punched and kicked the complainant, and when another crew member intervened, the Italian allegedly spat in her face. “The woman was acting aggressive and when the crew asked her to calm down, she took off her clothes and started walking up and down the aisle mid-flight,” an officer said.

The plane landed at Mumbai airport at around 4.53am and the woman was handed over to airline security officers at the airport as instructed by the pilot.

“From her passport, we discovered that her name was Paola Perruccio,” Khan said in her complaint. “While on the plane, the woman assaulted me, misbehaved, undressed and littered the plane, endangering the lives of other passengers.”

A formal complaint was lodged with the Sahar Police and a case was subsequently registered under the relevant provisions of the Aircraft Act 1937.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dikshit Gedam (District 8) confirmed the incident, saying: “The woman was registered for misbehavior. We issued a notice to her and took her to court where she was allowed to leave.”
