Italian female passenger causes commotion on Abu Dhabi-Mumbai flight by beating cabin crew; arrested: Indian Tribune

A 45-year-old Italian female passenger allegedly punched a cabin crew member, spat on another and took off after being prevented from entering business class on a Vistara flight from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai, police said Tuesday. Get off your clothes.

The incident happened on Monday when the crew handed her over to Sahar police after the plane landed in Mumbai and she was arrested, they said.

Vistara said in a statement that the passenger was restrained by the crew for “unruly and violent behavior” and reported the incident to authorities in accordance with standard operating procedure.

Paola Perruccio boarded the plane with an economy class ticket around 2 a.m. on Monday, according to an official from the Sahar police station.

The woman later entered business class, and when she was stopped, she allegedly began abusing the crew, he said.

When the crew tried to stop the woman from misbehaving, she allegedly punched one in the face and spat on another crew member, the official said.

He said the woman allegedly began stripping naked and walking up and down the aisle in that state as other crew members rushed to help their colleagues.

After the flight arrived here Monday morning, the crew approached Sahar police and handed her over to them, the official said.

The woman was arrested and registered under the IPC and Sections 323 (voluntarily causing harm) and 337 (causing harm through acts endangering the life or physical integrity of another) of the Aircraft Act, the official said.

She was taken to court and later released on bail, police added.

Vistara said in a statement, “We can confirm that an unruly passenger was on board Vistara flight UK-256 from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai on January 30. long to issue warning cards and limit client decisions.”

The full-service airline said it reported the incident to authorities and notified ground security agencies to take immediate action upon arrival.

It said the pilots made regular announcements to ensure the safety of other passengers on board.
