UAE: ‘World’s largest photography festival’ Xposure opens tomorrow in Sharjah

Sharjah: Xposure, billed as the world’s largest photography festival, kicks off tomorrow (9 February) in Sharjah.

Admission to most of the event’s attractions is free and “thousands” of visitors have registered, organizers said.

Organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the week-long event, which runs until 15 February, brings together top photographers, filmmakers, curators and industry professionals from around the world at the Sharjah Expo Centre.

The festival showcases the work of over 100 of the world’s finest photographers and filmmakers and provides a platform for practitioners to connect and network.

multiple genres

The various genres of the event include business, art, fashion, architecture, sports, space, drones, culture and storytelling, travel and landscape, photojournalism, portraiture, short film and moving image, and street photography.

With 68 exhibits, 41 workshops and discussions, 53 workshops and new events from Stage X, this year’s Xposure also featured a conservation summit, photography exhibition, equipment trade show, book signing and awards ceremony.
