Yokogawa Joins WEF Entities to Develop Saudi 4IR Policy

Yokogawa Electric Corporation, a major supplier of industrial automation solutions, has signed an agreement with the Saudi Arabian Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR KSA) to develop governance policies for the application of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) in the industrial sector.

As an affiliated entity of the World Economic Forum (WEF), C4IR KSA is a platform to develop policy frameworks and agreements to implement 4IR to facilitate the adoption of emerging technologies for the benefit of Saudi society.

It also aims to accelerate the development and application of scientific and fundamental technological governance principles, policies and agreements to serve Saudi Vision 2030.

The MoU was sealed at LEAP 23 in the presence of Dr. Basma Al Buhairan, Managing Director, C4IR KSA, and Bader Al Khalifa, Regional Director Engineer, Yokogawa Saudi Arabia.

The Memorandum aims to develop a framework and policies for the governance of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in the industrial sector, in line with the approach followed by the World Economic Forum’s Network of Fourth Industrial Revolution Centers.

Under the agreement, the duo will oversee the pilot studies of the project and assess the involvement of other entities in the Kingdom, such as the public and private sectors, academic and research institutions, in its implementation. Yokogawa.

They will also share technical information and data in the technical field and provide information to achieve efficiencies in the integrated and sustainable management of the industrial sector.

It added that the scope of experience sharing and testing of the policy framework was limited to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia.-TradeArabia News Service
