London [UK]BEIJING, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) — British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley announced a new round of sanctions on the Russian military and Kremlin elite on Wednesday. “The UK sanctions package hits a total of six entities that supplied military equipment such as drones to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as eight individuals and one entity linked to nefarious financial networks that help keep the Kremlin afloat elite wealth and power,” the FCO announced in a statement.

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley said Ukraine had shown it would not collapse under his “brute force”. He said the new sanctions had accelerated economic pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a statement released by Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

“These new sanctions accelerate Putin’s economic pressure – to sabotage his war machine to help Ukraine win. I am determined that, under our laws, Russia will not have access to our frozen assets until it ends, once and for all, with its territorial sovereignty over Ukraine and complete threats,” Cleverly said in a statement.

Britain has imposed sanctions on organizations that the Russian military relies on to maintain its offensive in Ukraine, including drone maker CST, RT-Komplekt, which makes parts for helicopters used in the conflict, Oboronlogistics, which manages the movement of military equipment, and Universalmash, which is linked to the manufacture of anti-aircraft missiles , Topaz is a software company involved in military aviation.
