“1. At the invitation of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan and National Leader of the Turkmen People, A working visit to the UAE took place from 11 to 12 February 2023. During the visit, the two sides explored ways to strengthen bilateral and economic cooperation, including in the fields of energy and renewable energy.
2. The two sides emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in the energy sector and reaffirmed their support for joint activities and projects in the oil and gas sector, including investment activities. The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of renewable energy and advance projects and initiatives in this field.
3. The two sides agreed that the UAE Oil and Gas Company will actively participate in the next stage of development of Turkmenistan’s super-large Galkynysh oilfield. In this context, the two sides welcome the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the energy field between state-owned Turkmenistan and ADNOC. The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening the cooperation between the two companies, including the exploration of potential energy projects in Turkmenistan, the joint development of hydrocarbon resources and subsequent product marketing, and the development of natural gas transportation infrastructure.
4. The two sides express their willingness to take necessary measures to develop and strengthen scientific, technological and economic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, energy supply and transportation.
5. The two sides noted the importance of creating economic, legal and technical conditions for the development of Turkmenistan’s energy potential and diversification of energy supply. In this context, both sides stress the importance of developing energy resources in a manner that actively contributes to strengthening energy security in their respective regions and beyond.
6. Considering the huge potential of the two countries in the field of transport and logistics and the transit potential of the two countries, the two sides emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in this field and intermodal transport along the Caspian Sea and the Middle East.
7. The Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan and the Leader of the People’s Nation of Turkmenistan Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov thanked President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his hospitality, On behalf of Turkmenistan President Sherdar Berdymukhamedov, he was invited by the President of the United Arab Emirates to visit Turkmenistan. “
