Abu Dhabi’s Sea Heritage Festival, celebrating the UAE’s rich maritime heritage and traditional customs, will be held for its second edition at Al Bahar, Abu Dhabi’s Corniche from 17-26 February.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi), the 10-day event will recreate historic shoreline communities with a true mix of nautical craft displays, markets, storytelling, performances and traditional food.
Visitors of all ages will be taken back in time to immerse themselves in traditional coastal life and learn more about those who joined Abu Dhabi Tides through experiences including family workshops, traditional games and shows, historical re-enactments and culinary experiences living people.

Festival areas include Fishing Village, Trading Village, Heritage Keeper and Promenade, each allowing visitors to explore maritime heritage through a variety of experiences. Visitors will be able to experience pearl exhibits and meet pearl divers, explore textile souks, enjoy family time at the beach, and watch nightly performances by Al Ayyala, Ahallah and Al Nahma.
At the Legacy Game Arena, visitors will discover the sports and games of our ancestors and have the opportunity to test their skills by competing in competitions. Students will be invited to play between 4pm and 7pm, while the public will be invited to play after 7pm.
Community radio shows will also be broadcast live from the festival grounds, featuring interesting interviews, music and trivia questions.
Tickets are available for AED 30 ($8.16) for adults and AED 15 for children aged 6 to 15. Admission is free for children under five. The Maritime Heritage Festival is open Sunday to Thursday from 4pm to 11pm and Friday and Saturday from 4pm to midnight. – trade arab news agency
