BrightSign unveiled what it calls a world-first dynamic digital experience in the form of a rotating 4-square-metre cube, lined with simultaneous digital displays inside and out.

bright signThe California-based digital signage company has announced the launch of a dynamic digital experience at Pixoul Gaming VR and eSports venue in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, according to a press release.

BrightSign powers content on a rotating 4m² digital glass cube, conceptualized by Pixoul Gaming managing director Paul Hamilton and his team. Built by Dubai-based integrator DigiComm, the solid cube is said to weigh around four tonnes and can hold six people at a time.

The installation consisted of 38 BrightSign DX234 players pushing simultaneous content across 123 LG screens (55-inch and 49-inch form factors), arrayed across the interior and exterior surface areas of the walk-in rotating cube.

Exterior content provided by DigiComm and created using sci-fi themed BrightAuthor software. The inner surface plays a three-minute media experience created by Robocom VR, Pixoul’s game design team, that includes information about using the Pixoul Metaverse, a mixed reality experience of the facility, and is narrated by a robotic avatar character.

“The synchronization worked very well and saved Pixoul around AED 300,000 ($81,000) using BrightSign,” DigiComm CEO Abdul Bakhrani said in the release. “We are very proud of this installation. As far as we know, nothing like it has ever been done before. A structure of this size and weight, rotated on a 6m platform with a 2mm error tolerance, all transport involved The power and syncing of everything across so many screens—it’s an engineering feat.”

“Abdul Bakhrani and his team really broke the bar with this brilliant project, which is as technically impressive as it is visually,” said Ann Holland, BrightSign’s vice president of marketing, in a press release. “Their imagination really did It’s amazing how every project they deliver utilizes the abilities of our players to their greatest potential. We’re excited to see how DigiComm pushed BrightSign players to the limit in this remarkable installation.
