The latest iteration of Microsoft’s Mixed Reality holographic device was first shown publicly in the UAE at this year’s Metaverse conference in Dubai.
At an event at the UAE Museum of the Future, the tech giant showcased how HoloLens 2 can transform productivity and optimize operations across industries.
“Our newly announced mixed reality holographic device…[seeks to enable] Organizations across industries innovate with confidence, act with precision and collaborate without boundaries,” said Ihab Foudeh, General Manager, Public Sector, Middle East and Africa, Microsoft.
Foudeh will deliver a keynote address on Microsoft’s vision for the Metaverse and the experiences enabled by today’s technology.
Microsoft officials said Microsoft’s approach to Metaverse technology is deeply rooted in safety and trust to ensure shared immersive experiences are safe, accessible and inclusive.
Tariq Hijazi, Head of Public Sector, UAE, Microsoft, said: “The UAE has always been at the forefront of adopting, improving and constantly exporting new cutting-edge technologies. Metaverse is no exception and throughout our 30+ year history, as always at Microsoft, we stand ready to support the nation’s Realize its vision. We have been working hard to build bridges between the physical and digital worlds – from massive investments in IoT and digital twin solutions, to widespread AI deployments, future meetings with Teams and our experience in mixed reality Collaboration with Mesh and HoloLens.”
The Dubai Metaverse Congress is the first event of its kind since Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Dubai Metaverse Strategy in July.
The strategy aims to add $4 billion to Dubai’s GDP, support 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030, and attract 1,000 companies focused on blockchain and metaverse technologies, making Dubai one of the top ten metaverse economies in the world one.
