5 Saudi giants to reshape modern construction industry with 4IR, says minister

Big 5 Saudi, the largest construction event in the country, constitutes an opportunity to reshape the modern construction industry and implement the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) with new technologies, said Engineer Osama bin Abdulaziz Al Zamil, Deputy Minister of Industry and Minerals resource.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 11th edition of Big5 Saudi, which attracted more than 820 local and international companies from 40 different countries.

Over the next three days, these companies will present the latest innovations and technologies in the construction field in front of more than 28,000 construction experts.

Al Zamil said this will play a key role in keeping pace with the transformation, opening up new opportunities for investment in the industry and domestic resources, and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s position in the industrial sector.

He noted that the National Industrial Strategy aims to increase the use of modern construction methods such as precast and insulated concrete systems, and increase the use of advanced construction methods such as 3D printing and robotics.

The Saudi construction industry is thriving and currently has 1,436 factories spread across the kingdom’s 13 administrative districts, diversifying between the manufacture of cement, bricks, ceramics, porcelain, ready-mixed concrete, plasterboard, plate glass and electrical wiring, he is famous.

Al Zamil affirmed the ministry’s desire to enhance the industry’s competitiveness by improving the operational efficiency and energy consumption levels of factories and enhancing integration with related industries such as the steel industry and chemical manufacturing.

Innovative and future-proof technologies took center stage as Big 5 Saudi opened its doors to exhibitors, visitors and industry leaders, with local and international companies from over 40 countries showcasing cutting-edge products and services.

The first day of the top 5 Saudi exhibitions in 2023 got off to a terrific start with incredible visitor numbers, unlocking several high-profile business opportunities in the Kingdom’s evolving architectural landscape.

The main highlight of the opening day was the signing of a strategic agreement by Deewan Equipment Trading to establish its 98th asphalt plant in Saudi Arabia on behalf of ALMIX, a leading supplier of concrete and asphalt equipment in the Middle East and GCC region.

The facility, located in Riyadh, will be operational within five months and will have a capacity of 160 tons per hour.

Deewan has a deal with Alomaier Trading and Contracting Company for its sixth plant.

“We are always happy to enter into new partnerships with new companies. However, signing on with repeat customers is always an achievement,” commented Ghaith Al Ani, Managing Partner, Deewan Equipment Trading.

“The Saudi Big 5 provides a great platform for a company like ours to meet and do business with new and existing clients,” he added.

The organizers said the Saudi Big Five played an important role in fostering partnerships and collaborations between players in the construction industry, thereby enhancing the growth and profitability of the participating companies.

Mena3D, a provider of geospatial and metrological 3D solutions in the Middle East and North Africa, presented a live demonstration of their product Simscan, one of the lightest and most efficient handheld 3D scanners, capable of scanning up to 2.8 million points per second , by 42 laser systems.

Aggreko, the world’s leading provider of temporary power, climate control and energy services, is showcasing modular solar solutions and batteries that can support companies in achieving ambitious energy transition goals.

Spider Access Cladding Works and Building Cleaning LLC, a Gulf based organization that provides a wide range of access related services to tall buildings, showcased their amazing rope access products at the event.

Roshn, Saudi Arabia’s national real estate developer, showcased its state-of-the-art VR technology, allowing users to witness Saudi Arabia’s architectural future, as the company envisions developing human-friendly communities across the kingdom.

Kazi noted that the exhibition serves as a platform for fruitful networking opportunities, enabling attendees to meet industry professionals, experts and potential business partners.

“The various companies exhibiting at the Big 5 Saudi have turned it into a hub for live demonstrations of the latest technology-enabled displays, representing pioneering features and capabilities that can revolutionize and innovate the design, build and delivery processes across the industry,” He added. –trade arab news agency
