Dubai: Abu Dhabi’s fabled Emirates Palace hotel has a new identity – Mandarin Oriental Emirates Palace. Through the rebranding, the hotel operator hopes to re-establish its status as “the world’s most iconic seaside resort”.
“Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace marks a milestone for our brand and confirms our commitment to the region,” said James Riley, CEO of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. “The Palace is a globally recognized landmark in the UAE and we are delighted to manage a property of such rich historical and cultural relevance.”
The beachfront hotel now features refurbished rooms, an ‘innovative’ dining experience and new spa and sports facilities. The redesigned accommodations also feature the region’s first “vegan rooms,” featuring “thoughtful design, sustainable bedding, plant-based in-room dining options and cruelty-free bath products.”
Dining options include Antonio Guida’s Talea, a Michelin-starred restaurant. There’s also a brand new food destination, Episode – including a tea shop, deli, cake shop and ice cream parlor.
Abu Dhabi has recently undergone a massive revamp of its tourism and destination creation strategy. New iconic hotel, leisure and retail projects coming online or coming online will enhance the city’s appeal. The emirate has also created a new tourism entity to oversee all the possibilities inherent in the sector and is working closely with the private sector to achieve this. Mohammed Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Emirates Palace Company, said: “Guided by the heritage and expertise of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, the resort will become an icon of global luxury, in line with our leadership’s quest to deliver world-class hospitality to anyone. Access or live in the UAE.”
