Josée Vachon will bring her musical entertainment and cultural performance to Riverfront-Franco Center Stage on Sunday, March 5th at 1pm.Through her music, she will share her Franco American joie de vivre – the joy of her life as a Franco American. Born in Quebec and raised in Maine, Vachon has shared for over 20 years her upbringing in Franco’s America through traditional and contemporary folk songs from Quebec and Acadia, as well as her own writing.
While she often entertained at family gatherings, she began singing publicly with the support of the University of Maine’s Franco-American Center, where she discovered others with an equally rich tradition. She quickly gained recognition from Franco’s American Voice with debut performances at state festivals in Lewiston and Madawaska, Maine, as well as at school and parish galas.
She has a dozen solo records and continues to perform and record the music that best represents her love of Franco’s American culture. LawnGuard Lawn Care is a show sponsor.
