KATHMANDU, March 7 (PTI) An Indian woman was killed and nine others were injured, including eight Indian pilgrims, when the jeep they were traveling in plunged into a stream in Nepal on Tuesday, media reported.
The jeep fell into the Lasku Khola stream in Sudurpaschim province, Darchula district police deputy superintendent Tarka Raj Pandeya said, according to Rising Nepal newspaper.
The deceased was identified as Kali Devi Negi from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, who died while being taken to hospital.
According to the report, the persons involved came to worship at Dongri Temple.
The report quoted Pandeya as saying that the three injured were taken to Pithoragarh for further treatment.
The driver of the jeep, 24-year-old Nepalese Mohan Singh Lothyal, was also injured in the accident.
The injured Indian citizens were identified as Bimala Devi Negi, 7, Makhkhan Ram Negi, 55, Kiran Kumari Aagri, 6, and Shanti Devi Negi, 38, as well as Diwan Aagri, 47, Jotbir Singh Kunwar, 27, Anju Devi Kunwar, 5. and Gurujot Sardar, 5. PTI
