The United Arab Emirates on Friday sent a plane carrying 14 tons of relief supplies, including blankets and personal care items, as well as LED light bulbs, to help people in Ukraine survive the harsh winter.
The supplies are part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian aid aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Ukrainian people in the crisis.
The shipment will first be airlifted to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, before being sent to Ukraine.
Since the crisis began, the UAE has provided emergency relief supplies to those affected by the crisis in Ukraine. Last October, it was announced that $100 million would be given to Ukrainian civilians. In addition, the UAE has built an air bridge and dispatched 11 aircraft to deliver about 550 tons of relief supplies, including two from Dubai International Humanitarian City, delivering essential food and medical supplies.
In addition, 2,520 generators and 6 ambulances were delivered to Ukrainian authorities, which will be transported to Ukraine and assist Ukrainian refugees in neighboring countries such as Poland, Moldova and Bulgaria.
