ABU DHABI, 14th March, 2023 (WAM) — Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, launched the 14th UAE Skills National The competition kicks off and will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) on March 15th.
The launch ceremony was attended by Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the President of the UAE, and Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi. officer.
Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikha Fatima bint Al Mubarak, Chairman of the National Women’s Federation, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Maternity and Childhood and Supreme Chairman of the Family Development Foundation, the National Competition in UAE Skills is organized annually by ACTVET.
The three-day event is part of the EmiratesSkills programme, which aims to raise awareness of vocational and technical education among UAE youth, and raise national standards for advanced technological capabilities to drive industrial and technological development in the UAE.
The 2023 event saw more than 300 Emirati students aged 16 to 21 demonstrate their capabilities in 23 skills challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence, programming, aircraft maintenance, mobile robotics, coding and 3D printing.
Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi said: “This year’s competition features the Future Coders Challenge, held for the first time at the UAE National Skills Competition. 100 Emirati coders from grades 6 to 12 will take part in this challenge.”
