The 54-hole 2023 Abu Dhabi Golf Club Men’s Open begins tomorrow, Friday, on the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
The event is the 15th out of 17 for the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) Medal of Honor 2022-23 and is a qualifying event for the R&A-backed World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR – Men’s).
72 players were in attendance, including the top four of the current honor roll: Sam Mullan (JGE), Jonathan Selvaraj (Trump International Golf Club), Thomas Nesbitt (ADGC) and dominic morton (Trump International Golf Club).
Mullane, the 2023 UAE Amateur Open winner, will play the first three-ball match of the day at 7am with Selvaraj, the recent winner of the Men’s Amateur Open at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, joe jones (U.K).
The winner of this WAGR event is entitled to the EGF Medal of Honor and will receive 45 points, 36 points for second place, 33 points for third place and 6 points for bottom 20th place.
The 2022-2023 EGF Men’s Money List has two more events: the Jumeirah Golf Estates Men’s Amateur Open (WAGR) from March 31 to April 2 and the Tower Links Golf Club from April 8-9 Men’s Open.
