Islamabad [Pakistan]March 22 (ANI): A local PTI leader, Atif Munsif Khan, was killed in a targeted attack by a rival group in Langra village, Havelian, police said on Monday, 10 of them were killed, Pakistan-based Dawn reported. People lost their lives.

According to Abbottabad DPO Umar Tufail, the mayor of Haveli Antsir, Atif, was traveling in a car when a bullet pierced the fuel tank of his car, causing a fire.

According to video shared on social media, the car was completely destroyed in the attack. The two injured were transferred to a nearby hospital, Dawn reported.

Bodies for autopsy were transferred to Abbottabad District Headquarters Hospital. No FIR was registered prior to the submission of this report, but police have initiated search operations to apprehend the offenders.

Some unconfirmed reports said the car was burned after being hit by a rocket.

Munsif, who won the 2022 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local body election as an independent candidate from Havelian tehsil from Abbottabad, later joined PTI. His father, Munsif Khan Jadoon, was a former member of KP’s parliament and served as governor. He was also assassinated in the 1990s.

After the attack, a video of Mr Munsif went viral on social media, in which he can be seen playing cricket with children in the village of Langla hours before his death, Dawn reported. (Arnie)
