His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, listened to the presentation of the COP28 on Monday. Preparation. The conference will be held at Dubai Expo City from November 30th to December 12th.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said: “Since its inception, the UAE has embarked on a journey of change. Sustainability and climate action are integral to our strategy to achieve sustained economic and social growth for present and future generations .”

He added that the UAE is committed to fulfilling its role as a global convener and continuing to promote the environmental and economic prosperity of the surrounding society in line with the approach set by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. the world, both today and in the future.

He noted that COP28 should involve all sectors of society across the country, and called on the High Commission to encourage stakeholders from government and the private sector to academia and civil society to play an active role in the preparations for the conference.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid reiterated the UAE’s approach to climate action by unlocking innovative and actionable opportunities for shared prosperity and sustainable development.

He highlighted the urgent need to unite the world at COP28 in the UAE, welcoming participants from around the world to continue implementing the UAE’s message of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the COP28 High Committee, reiterated that the UAE stands as a country at the crossroads of the world, bridged between the global North and the global Ideal location south of the bridge. He also noted that the UAE can play a constructive role to bring about tangible progress towards a climate-safe world and provide opportunities for continued socio-economic development.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and COP28 Chair-designate, also provided a summary of ‘The Road to COP28’, the first event chaired by the COP28 President.

Held at Dubai Expo City on 15 March, the event strengthened youth engagement, united the wider community to raise awareness of climate change and mobilized all sectors of society in preparation for COP28.
