Etihad strengthens partnership with China Southern Airlines

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and China Southern Airlines, Asia’s largest airline, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore opportunities for deeper and broader cooperation to provide passengers with a better travel experience.

With Etihad Airways relocating to Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), which is also a hub for China Southern Airlines, the MoU provides room to expand the current codeshare collaboration and allow partners to explore expanding their global flight network To provide passengers with more valuable, more convenient and better travel experience outside the hubs of the two airlines.

This is further strengthened by Etihad Airways launching services to China Southern Airlines’ main hub at Guangzhou Baiyuan in October 2022.

The MOU also includes mutual procurement opportunity programs in areas such as ground handling, cargo handling, bonded warehousing, catering, maintenance, repair and overhaul in Guangzhou, Beijing or Abu Dhabi, expanding cooperation opportunities in the airline supply chain.

Arik De, Chief Revenue Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “This MoU will serve as a platform to strengthen the ongoing relationship between the two airlines.
