Former U.S. President Donald Trump, who has recently turned himself in to authorities in New York City as he faces charges of falsifying business records related to hush money paid in the 2016 campaign, has been compared to legendary rapper Tupac Shakur.
The late rapper’s sister was outraged by Trump’s lawyer’s comparisons between the former president and Tupac.
Tupac’s sister told TMZ, “My brother is measured by his integrity, his principles and his personal and collective responsibility,” calling Trump’s lawyer Alina Haba’s recent comments “blasphemous.”
She also referred to her brother’s responsibility in the 1994 sex abuse trial, and said she didn’t see Trump taking too much responsibility.
As the outlet reported, Trump’s lawyers compared Trump to Tupac on the same day he flew to New York to face the indictment.
The lawyers also noted that Trump’s legal wrangling would boost his poll numbers in the same way that Tupac’s record sales rose after spending time in prison.
The rapper’s frontman Sett Shakur responded by saying that Tupac didn’t become famous because of being locked up, but instead, his popularity went up because those who listened to his music “were able to live through his unanimous voice.” Measure him by his words and deeds.”
She went a step further and praised her late brother, calling him a respectable man who stood up for those in need of protection and always thought of others.
