ABU DHABI, 8th April, 2023 (WAM) — The Federal Prosecution Authority, in its annual report for 2022, has revealed that the total number of procedures it has carried out remotely is 362,161.
The report explained that the total number of grievances related to COVI-19 violations filed through the website and the remote grievance service provided by the UAE Public Prosecution Smart app reached 60,417.
It is at the sole discretion of the UAE Public Prosecution Authority to accept or deny the request after a thorough review, or to revise the fine amount accordingly.
According to reports posted on its social media platforms, the Public Prosecution issued 7,285 punishment orders and took procedures to enforce 104,755 judicial decisions. There were 42,879 public prosecutions, 8,970 appeals by the prosecution, and 1,689 appeal legal opinions issued by the prosecution.
The report states that the case resolution rate ranges from 95% to 100%, while the conviction rate reaches 100%.
The public prosecution also noted that 176,185 electronic requests were processed and 13,519 remote investigations were conducted in 2022.
The public prosecution agency provides more than 50 services through its website and smart applications to meet customer needs in a timely and convenient manner.
The numbers and statistics contained in the report underscore the Public Prosecution’s enthusiasm for adopting the latest technology in its judicial work, achieving excellence and advancing judicial action, in line with the UAE leadership’s vision for judicial transparency and independence of the system.
