Dubai will attract the pioneering move of the Global Chamber of Commerce in the prestigious competition – Dubai Blog

Dubai is preparing to host the 2021 World Chamber of Commerce Competition during the 12th World Chamber of Commerce Congress (12WCC) from November 23 to 25, 2021, attracting innovative and pioneering initiatives from chambers of commerce around the world.

The World Chamber of Commerce Competition is the only global awards program that aims to identify and reward the Chamber of Commerce for the most innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to today’s most pressing global challenges. The competition recognizes and celebrates the achievements of these chambers of commerce, while bringing their stories to a wider audience. In order to highlight the diversity and entrepreneurial spirit advocated by competing chambers of commerce, the competition aims to promote change and make the world a better place for mankind and the planet.

ICC and its World Chamber of Commerce Federation (WCF) announced the finalists of the 2021 World Chamber of Commerce Competition. The 16 shortlisted chambers of commerce will present their initiatives during the 12th World Chamber of Commerce Congress. Under the four categories, the 2021 World Chamber of Commerce competition received 78 initiatives from 33 countries. The total exceeds the number of entries received in 2019, demonstrating the convincing and unremitting efforts of the Chamber of Commerce in the face of the current global landscape.

The finalists in the best digital project category of the competition are: Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Munich and Upper Bavaria (Germany)-Cert4Trust: Blockchain-based digital certificate and document verification; Santiago Chamber of Commerce (Chile)-Resolución en Línea: Reconnecting companies through online dispute resolution With consumers; Business West Chamber of Commerce (England)-Great British Food Project; Lima Chamber of Commerce (Peru)-Digital Chamber of Commerce: A New Era.

Best Resilience Project Campaign: Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (Luxembourg)-Luxembourg home of entrepreneurship; Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Australia)-COVID-19 support for Australian companies; Greater Des Moines Partnership (US)-DSM Forward Playbooks; Foreign German-Russian Chamber of Commerce (Russia)-#ResilientTogether: Building resilience in turbulent times.

Four chambers of commerce for the best climate action project were nominated, namely, the Eskisehir Chamber of Industry (Turkey) for its security management platform (SHAREBOX) for sharing process resources; the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce (England) will showcase its lower chamber of commerce Carbon Project; Dublin Chamber of Commerce (Ireland) of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Development Institute; and Voka Sustainable Business Charter of the Voka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Belgium).

Competing for the best unconventional projects are: Styrian Chamber of Commerce (Austria)-Center for Extended Reality; Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Germany)-Schüfi: App for Young Entrepreneurs; Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Turkey)-Foreign Trade Information Center ; And Quito Chamber of Commerce (Ecuador)-AWE: Ecuadorian Institute of Women Entrepreneurs.

HE Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce-World Chamber of Commerce (HE Hamad Buamim) described the World Chamber of Commerce competition as a source of innovation for the global chamber of commerce, as it demonstrates helping chambers of commerce respond to new Cutting-edge concepts and solutions to challenges and create added value for members.

“We are encouraged by the huge response this year to the competition and the high-quality submissions received by chambers of commerce from all corners of the world. The upcoming 12th World Chamber of Commerce Congress in Dubai will provide an ideal platform to showcase such game-changing initiatives These initiatives will raise the standards of the Chamber of Commerce’s services and initiatives,” HE Buamim said.

An international jury composed of the leadership of the International Chamber of Commerce and the World Chamber of Commerce and representatives of transnational, national and local chambers of commerce is responsible for entering the category finals.

The finalists of the 2021 World Chamber of Commerce Competition will present their projects to delegates and judges participating in the 12th World Chamber of Commerce General Assembly, a global thought leadership conference for the world’s largest chamber of commerce and its business members. The award ceremony will be held from November 23 to 25, and the winners will be announced on the last day of the event, which is November 25.
