Traveling around Turkey: Discover the essence of the Southwest

[ad_1]

Take a road trip along the country roads in southwestern Turkey and experience everything from luxury resorts to wine tasting in the mountains to natural wonders…

Turkey offers more than just hot air balloon festivals and Turkish baths (although both are worth checking out). This country is rich in natural beauty, friendly faces and luxurious atmosphere, and a wallet-friendly experience. Bodrum is a four-and-a-half-hour flight from Dubai, and flydubai offers convenient holiday packages for travelers looking for a short break.

Despite the turmoil in the summer, including vicious fires and resurgent tourism, the country remains resilient and ready to welcome tourists. But as cute as Bodrum, there are more places to see than just a city. Latest News It is recommended to rent an affordable car (approximately 250 dirhams per day) and spend three or four days to explore more of what the local has to offer…

Stay here

To make it easy for yourself to enter the adventure, enjoy a luxurious journey barefoot at the new Mett Social Living Resort in Bodrum. A beautiful hotel with Dubai style, with stunning sea and mountain views, and Dubai outlet dining concepts Mood Rooftop and Isola, making you feel at home. This 72-room resort also has 31 luxurious villas, perfect for those who want to travel with friends. The rooms have chic beach-style interiors, allowing you to instantly relax while enjoying the soaking view of the yacht swinging on the balcony. For those who want to experience traditional hammam treatments, Moi Spa is the ideal place to relieve stress. Rooms start at AED 1,396 per night.

Eat here

Without a doubt, a highlight of your stay in Mett will be lunch at Folie Restaurant and Ocean Restaurant (the concept of the team behind Dubai Rafting Beach). The Provence menu uses top ingredients and irresistible fresh dishes. Set on the water deck, you can hear the sound of the tide hitting under the deck, and you can even arrive by boat if you want. DJs and live entertainment create an atmosphere in the afternoon, including saxophone players and wandering dancers. The staff is not only proficient in their menu, but also good talkers (rare in the area). Spend a good day, book a sun lounger or cabin on the adjacent platform, enjoy the sun, and dip and soak into the sea between ice-cold rose wine glasses.

After spending a few relaxing nights in Mette, we recommend that you take a rented car and head to the beautiful (occasionally bumpy) road to Pamukkale. There are only seven official natural wonders, but Pamukkale should definitely be on the list. These hot spring pools have existed for thousands of years and were once used by the ancient Greeks. Pamukkale, translated as “cotton castle”, is a reasonable description of the beautiful white and blue environment that may surprise you. One night is enough. The local accommodation conditions are average, but if you dare to leave early, the gate will open at 6:30 in the morning, and then you can see local hot-air balloon riders enjoying their trip.

Spend an afternoon here

Go to “Turkey Maldives”, officially named Lake Salda. The lake is huge and visually stunning, with countless blue tones running through its sparkling shore. Beneath the surface is the hydromagnesite mineral-a black mud known for its dermatological properties-so if you want to enjoy free spa treatments, go for it.

Drink here

Next on our road trip, we head west back to Alacati. This idyllic seaside town is perfect for strolling the beautiful streets, which are full of colorful doorways and Vespas cars parked outside the boutiques. Find a cute cafe with a table outside. While watching the world, order a glass of your favorite wine to enjoy. Afterwards, follow the beautiful winding mountain road to Ayda Winery and Vineyards to taste local wines, where you can also have dinner there, overlooking the lush vineyards.

Terminal

Head south and drive to Ephesus to explore the ancient Greek city. Built in the 10th century BC, visitors can visit this space for about AED 50. Now mainly ruled by cats, the structure of Ephesus is still intact, and you can almost imagine what it was like to live there more than 2,000 years ago. Another place you should arrive early, beat the crowd in the iconic Celsus Library and get some wonderful snapshots.

How to get there

FlyDubai has direct flights from DXB Terminal 2 to Bodrum. The round-trip fare starts from AED 1,600 in economy class and AED 6,000 in business class. At the time of writing, vaccinated passengers can enter Bodrum without a PCR test, but a PCR test is required to return to Dubai-your hotel will be able to help arrange it (but be sure to check the latest travel requirements). Flights operate on Tuesday and Friday.
