Eid al-Fitr in UAE: Police brace for public holiday, bolster security in emirate – News

With residents anticipating a holiday of up to five days this year, Eid celebrations are sure to be in full swing. With this in mind, police across the country have declared their readiness to handle any situation during the holidays.

Authorities said hundreds of traffic and regular police officers would be deployed on patrol to ensure everyone’s safety during the festivities.

They said security would be stepped up and the situation would be monitored everywhere, including residential complexes, shopping malls and other entertainment venues.

Strict security measures in Dubai

The Dubai Police General Command has confirmed that it is ready to ensure a safe, secure and happy Eid al-Fitr.

A senior official in the operations department said Dubai Police had drawn up a security plan that included the deployment of patrols, ambulances, paramedics, sea boats and lifeguards on beaches.

Traffic police and security personnel from private companies will also be deployed in major markets and commercial centers in the UAE ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

“Traffic police patrols will be stepped up in various ways on both internal and external roads in the emirate to ensure smooth flow of traffic,” he added.

Sharjah Integrated Security Plan

Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amir, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said departments had drawn up comprehensive security and traffic plans for the nights of Ramadan 27 and 29 and the Eid holidays.

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief emphasized the need to coordinate and cooperate with all relevant authorities and strategic partners to take all necessary safety and transport measures during the last nights of Ramadan and during Eid al-Fitr to ensure the comfort of citizens, residents and tourists.

Police said they would step up patrols inside and outside mosques, residential areas, commercial streets and markets around the clock. This will help ensure smooth traffic flow.

There will also be increased police presence on Sharjah’s external roads to improve the quality of life and safety in the community. “The Central Operations Office is ready to respond to calls, correspondence, complaints and observations 24/7 and to provide professional, fast, efficient and effective services,” he emphasized.

Bin Amer called on the public to follow all instructions issued by the competent authorities to ensure safety and traffic safety in the emirate and to report any incidents through its allocated channels available 24/7. They are: (999) for emergencies and (901) for non-urgent problems or services.

Members of the public are also welcome to communicate using the Sharjah Police app.

Ajman steps up patrols

Lt Col Saif Abdullah Falasi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Department of Ajman Police, said traffic and security patrols have been increased at shopping malls, major roads and tourist destinations to ensure road safety and maintain public safety .

Patrols will organize traffic movements, help reduce traffic congestion and ensure drivers are adhering to safety measures.

Police vehicles deployed in Ras Al Khaimah

In Ras Al Khaimah, more than 89 police vehicles patrolled markets, mosques and residential areas, according to official records.
