Dubai, UAE: Emirates Rice Brands, part of the food and beverage manufacturing group, has generously donated 50 tonnes of rice to the UAE Food Bank to support the three million meal program during Ramadan. The initiative, launched under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative, aims to feed those in need at home and abroad and strengthen food security and giving.
As rice is a staple food for the UAE’s diverse population and the demand for this nutritious energy source continues to grow, the contribution of the country’s leading rice brands is particularly noteworthy. Participating brands include Sinnara, Gautam, Tilda, Daawat, Crown, Lal Qilla and HK Gourmet, which are popular with UAE customers.
The donation was handed over to the food bank at an event in Dubai, attended by representatives of participating brands.
Mr. Saleh Abdullah Lootah, Chairman, Food and Beverage Manufacturing Group, commented: “Emirati food companies have been responsible and aligned with the initiatives of the National Food Safety Strategy, demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility as the country’s food partners ensuring safe and secure delivery to the market. Rice is a key commodity in the region’s shopping basket as diverse ethnic groups in the UAE consume rice as part of their daily diet, while the strong presence of several global brands is a result of the country’s robust strategy of retaining major food companies in the region.
