ABU DHABI, 20th April, 2023 (WAM) — Friday, 21st April, 2023, corresponding to the first Shawwal, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr, a statement by the UAE Moonshot Committee after its meeting tonight announced in.
Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice and chairman of the committee, said the committee had successfully observed the crescent of Shawwal Moon on Thursday night after exhausting Islamic methods of crescent observation and making necessary contacts with neighboring countries, thus announcing the 4 Thursday 20 April is the last day of Ramadan 1444, while Friday 21 April is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
Ministers and Committee members warmly congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the honorable occasion; Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al His Highness Maktoum; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidency, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate, and Crown Prince.
They also congratulated the people of the UAE and Muslims around the world on this auspicious occasion.
