LOS ANGELES – Now streaming on Roku is “Slip,” produced, written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones.
The show follows May (Lister-Jones) as she falls in love with her husband, but their relationship is not romantic.
When Mae “mistakes” and has a one-night stand with a guy she met at a bar, she wakes up the next morning and realizes she’s entered a parallel universe where she and her one-night stand are married – marking her The start of traveling across parallel universes.
Mae then has to keep going in and out of other realities and relationships in order to find her way back to her husband and eventually to herself.
“Women have sexual awakening later in life, and I don’t think it’s discussed enough,” Lister-Jones said. “When women allow themselves or are allowed to actually experience sexual pleasure, it’s very attractive. I wanted to bring that power to the screen.”
Lister-Jones told Spectrum News that she wanted to explore sexual themes in an unapologetic way and inspire women to be agents of their own sexuality.
The themes explored in “Missteps” are universal, whether one is in a relationship or not.
“I want people to feel seen,” Lister-Jones said. “I hope this show resonates and keeps people riding and excited.”
Lister-Jones said she loves directing, which allows her to use her performances to shape other performances—an opportunity that few people experience, she says.

“Slip” also stars Emily Hampshire (Stevie Budd on “Schitt’s Creek”). In “Slip,” Hampshire plays Lister-Jones’ wife in the same universe.
“She’s incredible. She’s such a hilarious actress but also has so much pathos. We had so much fun building that relationship. She’s such a dream,” Lister-Jones said.
“Zoe’s scripts are amazing. When I got them, I ate them. So well written, so grounded. I think we all wonder what it would be like if we went down a different path.” what will happen to the roads,” Hampshire said.
“Mistakes,” says Hampshire, is a female perspective, a very intelligent and accurate journey into how a woman’s vagina can be a portal.

Like most of us, Lister-Jones said that in real life, if she could travel to another world, another parallel universe, she would be willing to retire on the beach.
“Slip” is now streaming for free on Roku, and seven new episodes for the second season have been written.
