The new moon marking the end of Ramadan was spotted in the UAE on Thursday night, This means that the first day of Eid al-Fitr 2023 is Friday 21st April.
Residents will enjoy a 4-day holiday to celebrate Islamic holidays. The first long weekend of the year begins on Thursday, with offices and schools reopening on Monday, April 24.
On the occasion, the UAE leader took to Twitter to extend his greetings to residents of the country and the wider Arab world.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory message to Kings, Emirs and Presidents of Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
He wished them and their people continued progress, prosperity and stability. He took to the podium and said, “On this Eid al-Fitr, I congratulate my brothers, the rulers of the UAE, the people of the UAE and Muslims around the world. We pray that God will grant the people of the UAE continued peace and well-being to the world in this blessed time.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Maktoum, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidency His Highness Nahyan has successively sent similar telegrams to leaders of Arab and Islamic countries on this auspicious occasion.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum tweeted: “Happy New Year to the UAE and its people… Happy New Year to our Arab and Islamic countries. Happy New Year to the world…May God accept you obedience…and perpetuate your joy…and fulfill all your desires.”
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, also tweeted his regards.
“We congratulate the leaders and people of the UAE for Eid al-Fitr and we pray that Allah will bring it back to our country, and to all Islamic countries and nations of the world, with goodness, peace and blessings,” he said.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Sheikh of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, said: “I congratulate His Highness, the Ruler of the UAE and its people, and the Arab and Islamic On the occasion of National Eid al-Fitr, may Allah Almighty accept us and your good deeds. Eid al-Fitr is a message of peace and love and an opportunity to build bridges of communication. Eid Mubarak and Happy New Year.”
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, sends a message to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr Congratulatory message.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi also extended Eid greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sur bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness the Ruler of the UAE, Member of the Supreme Council.
The ruler of Ras Al Khaimah also sent congratulatory messages to the heads of state of the Arab and Islamic countries, wishing them and their people good health, progress and prosperity.
Ras Al Khaimah Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi also sent similar Eid greetings and congratulatory messages to UAE leaders, deputy rulers, crown princes and heads of state of Arab and Islamic countries.
