Sad Fox News paid millions and fired Tucker just for lying? As their lawyer, I would claim that Fox’s “News” is a travesty of entertainment. Tucker is the number one clown. How do comedians and clowns lie? I’ve never considered Fox for anything other than entertainment. Under Trump’s big circus tent, Fox has been quality entertainment along with the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan and Monty Python. I never took any of them seriously, and never in my life got a good laugh out of watching and listening to Rush, Alex, Joe, and Fox Circus News’ comedic “news” parodies. If I want real news, I watch PBS, BBC, Al Jazeera, or read a good newspaper from a reputable news organization. Hopefully Sean and the rest of the Fox clowns will step up and save the day. I always like to have a good laugh.

I am against more gun control
I’m responding to Scott McIntosh’s April 27 editorial on “What Responsible Gun Owners Need to Fight Back Toxic Gun Culture.” The article seems to be arguing for the same restrictions that have been in place in California for decades, which make no difference there. As a responsible gun owner and competitive shooter, I am against any more gun restrictions for two main reasons: First, Idaho already has one of the lowest homicide and violent crime rates in the nation (less than California half the state homicide rate) over the past 10 years), which would lead one to believe that something other than high gun ownership rates has contributed to the recent slight increase in nationwide violence. Second, those pushing for these new restrictions have admitted their ultimate goal is an Australian-style ban, so why would a responsible person back down an inch for that goal?
The media and anti-Second Amendment groups only talk about “gun violence,” which to me means they don’t really care about violence, they just don’t want people to have guns. Exploring why more and more people are angry, alienated, suicidal and violent right now makes more sense to me.

thanks for your help
I know I’m not the only one whose mailbox has been compromised recently. My husband is 84 and required digging a two foot hole, cement and assembly on top of the cost of the replacement. We were all out today trying to put the mailboxes together on the 4×4. It was too windy but we made up our minds when a very nice gentleman and his colleague from Legend Mechanical passed by. “Can we help?” Oh my gosh, “Yes, thank you very much!” If it weren’t for their genuine kindness, we’d still be working on that mailbox. We have lived in Idaho since 1978 and we are happy to live here. Help us Mr. Mike was born and raised in Idaho. It’s the people of Idaho that make it great! Thanks.

ask people about abortion
Why aren’t Republican lawmakers in Idaho letting the people decide whether abortion is legal? Because they know the people want this right. Legislators should represent the will of the people, not their religion telling people what to do. Our legislators should represent all people, not just those in their churches. This minority government will only end when we shake off Republican control of our government. If the GOP doesn’t allow us to vote on abortion, we need to vote them all out. Don’t let your kids grow up to be Republicans. set them free.

The voting system has a real loophole
Ironically, the Idaho Statesman Editorial Board said Fox News spread lies about election fraud when they themselves decided to spread lies criticizing me for voting HB 137. The editorial said HB 137 would eliminate the need for unidentified voters to cast provisional ballots by signing an affidavit identifying themselves when they fail to provide proper photo identification. If only that was the case.
In fact, these ballots from unidentified voters are not provisional. They go into the same box as ballots cast by all other voters, meaning there is no way to separate ballots cast by unidentified voters, even if the actual voter the unidentified voter claims to be later shows up at the polls with identification.
Also, since poll workers don’t check affidavit signatures against voter registration signatures, a person could theoretically sign as Donald Duck and vote on your behalf at the polls. This is a glaring, easily exploitable hole in Idaho’s election system that should be fixed. It would help if our local newspapers supported these efforts rather than spreading lies to undermine them.

Men at a disadvantage in custody disputes
Gender bias in court custody battles continues to scare me, and it should scare you too. How many times have I had to hear about people with known drug addiction or other criminal records getting full custody of their children just because they are mothers, and people with no criminal records and high paying jobs not just because they are fathers ? If it turns out that the mother is more secure and/or financially stable than both parents, they should definitely win the custody battle. But that doesn’t always happen, so I can’t help but worry about the safety of the kids in Idaho. Will Idaho’s leaders step in and fix this problem, or will they continue to ignore it and continue to put the next generation of the Gem State at risk?
