colombo [Sri Lanka]May 1 (ANI): Chief Air Marshal VR Chaudhari of the Indian Air Force on Monday visited the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo and sought blessings from the Buddha.

“Air Marshal VR Chaudhari #CAS @IAF_MCC seeks blessings of Lord #Buddha today at the sacred Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo,” tweeted the Indian High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He is on a four-day official visit to Sri Lanka. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Defence, CAS is visiting Sri Lanka at the invitation of Air Marshal SK Pathirana, Sri Lankan Air Force Commander.

During the visit, CAS plans to meet with the President of Sri Lanka, Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Chief of Defense Staff, Commanders of the Sri Lankan Air Force, Army and Navy, and Minister of Defence.

During the visit, CAS Chaudhari will also interact with student officers of the Sri Lanka National Defense Academy and visit the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy. According to an official release, the visit will strengthen existing professional ties and ties of mutual cooperation between the two countries.

On Saturday, CAS Chaudhari praised the Air Force crew who carried out a daring rescue and airlift operation in conflict-torn Sudan’s Wadi Seidna region.

He also assured the nation that in an emergency, the Air Force would take on such challenging tasks.

“I think the IAF has demonstrated its core ability to carry out our operations under the most difficult circumstances and I salute the aircrew who have executed this mission so flawlessly. I want to assure the nation that whenever we do, we will to time and time again,” Air Marshal Chaudhari told ANI.
