Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi congratulated Vietnam on its development achievements and expressed hope to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam.
The host said he would assign Ras Al Khaimah agencies to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in various fields, promising to facilitate operations of Vietnamese investors, especially in the emirate’s special economic zones.
He declared that Vietnam and the UAE have the potential to strengthen cooperation in the future.
The two sides agreed to consider establishing cooperative relations with Vietnamese localities in Ras Al Khaimah, coordinate and organize cultural activities and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, strengthen tourism promotion, share experience in cultural relics protection, and carry out educational cooperation.
The Vice President suggested that the relevant institutions of the two countries continue to improve important legal frameworks and mechanisms such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and establish the Vietnam-UAE Business Council as soon as possible to strengthen the ties between Vietnamese companies and UEA and Ras companies, especially Haima.
On May 4, Phuc met with UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touk Al Mali, who spoke highly of the Vietnamese Vice President’s speech at the 2023 Global Women’s Summit held in Dubai earlier in the day.
The UAE has been closely following Vietnam’s economic development, and the minister said the UAE will soon send a delegation to visit Vietnam to seek cooperation opportunities in the Southeast Asian country.
He also urged the two sides to continue to advance the CEPA negotiations to achieve a breakthrough for the economic cooperation between the two countries.
Xuan affirmed that Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for foreign companies, including the UAE, to seek investment opportunities in the country.
She suggested that the two sides organize the fifth meeting of the Vietnam-UAE Intergovernmental Committee as soon as possible.
During his stay in the UAE, Xuan also met with the President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the largest economic development agencies in Dubai, and the CEO of Elite Agro, the UAE’s leading agricultural company.
