Emirates News Agency – UAE Council for Talent Competitiveness launches Nafis Youth Council’s executive plans, initiatives

ABU DHABI, 6th May, 2023 (WAM) — Approval for the establishment of Nafis Youth following the decision of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC) chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Office Commission (New York City), the UAE Talent Competitiveness Council held the first official meeting of the Nafis Youth Council to launch its executive plans and initiatives. The meeting was held under the patronage and presence of Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture and Youth, and was attended by Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the UAE Talent Competitiveness Council, leaders and members of the two entities. Ghannam Al Mazrouei welcomed the audience at the start of the event and congratulated the members of the Nafis Youth Council for being selected for this important task. He clarified that their selection represented a duty rather than an honor as the Nafis Youth Council (NYC) would be a valuable opportunity to have direct, regular and ongoing interaction and exchange with youth in the private sector under the supervision of the ETCC .

Al Mazrouei added: “This important step supports the strategic objectives of the Nafis plan to significantly increase community optimism about Emiratis working in the private sector, encourage Emiratis to join the industry, and highlight the benefits that private companies benefit from employing Emirati talent .

Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture and Youth, congratulated the members of New York City on their selection for this national mission, stressing that the UAE leadership and government are keen to support Emirati youth and enable them to take a prominent place among the youth of the world.

“Emirati youth are the hope and future of the UAE. We have full confidence in their abilities and abilities to excel and set outstanding examples in all fields, both regionally and internationally,” he said.

Al Qassimi explained that the constructive collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and Youth and the UAE Talent Competitiveness Council resulted in this initiative, which will have a profound impact on serving Emirati graduates and youth seeking qualifications and training to find jobs, as well as the current UAE employees working in the private sector.

He highlighted the Ministry’s support for the Nafis Youth Council and all its upcoming events and initiatives, noting that New York City is home to numerous outstanding Emirati youth in the private sector, who praised the wealth of experience and most importantly success stories.

Al Mazrouei added that youths who are selected as members of the Nafis Youth Council will be the best ambassadors for the Nafis program and truly transform their initiatives in society and among their UAE counterparts.”

He asserted that the ETCC is eager to meet regularly with City members for some time to come to secure their roles and missions and strengthen support for the City’s strategic plans, initiatives, and targeted projects throughout the year. Al Mazrouei called on members of the Nafis Youth Council to come up with initiatives that will benefit Emirati youth and increase their chances of qualification and recruitment in the private sector.

He also highlighted the importance of simultaneously forming and launching the Nafis Youth Council as the countdown begins for the UAE to host the Climate Change Conference (COP28), which is expected to take place at the Dubai Expo in November, noting that the summit will be held under the theme ‘One World’ , reflecting the important role of global youth, where the role of the Nafis Youth Council is aligned with the goals of the conference.

In his speech during the event, NYC Chairman Ahmed Al Amoudi said that all members of NYC look forward to doing their best to serve their Emirati brethren, amplify the interests of NYC success stories in the private sector, and introduce these experiences to the private sector An example of success and excellence in the ecosystem. Al Amoudi emphasized that there is a constant need for hardworking and talented youth in the private sector, where there are great opportunities for advancement and advancement.

For her part, NYC Vice President Alia Al Nuaimi expressed the enthusiasm of NYC members to work with ETCC to support and empower Emiratis to join the private sector. She also highlighted the designated mission of the NYC members to play their key role as ambassadors and representatives of UAE youth working in the private sector.

The event included a brief presentation of the City’s 2023 strategy, action plans and initiatives, fully aligned with the goals of the UAE Talent Competitiveness Council and the government’s vision.

The Nafis Youth Council will use a number of tools to achieve these goals, including brainstorming sessions, exchange of ideas and commitment to roles and responsibilities, including suggesting youth activities that will empower the youth of the UAE, supporting them in their work in the private sector, engaging in events, media Reporting and discussion, highlighting success stories and achievements, developing youth advice related to Nafis programs and initiatives, in addition to promoting the Nafis Awards and related positive initiatives.

At the conclusion of the event, Al Qassimi and Al Mazrouei endorsed the implementation plan and initiative of the Nafis Youth Council, which focuses on the implementation and follow-up of strategic initiatives to identify all possible opportunities to support the government’s efforts to increase the rate of emiratization in the private sector.
