Stars such as Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That will take the stage for the coronation concert.

Nicole Scherzinger, Olly Murs, Paloma Faith and Andrea Bocelli will also perform at the event at Windsor Castle.

Hugh Bonneville will host the concert, which will be held on Saturday to celebrate the coronation of King Charles.

The show will be seen by 20,000 members of the public and airs on BBC One and BBC Radio 2 from 20:00 BST.

Other names in the line-up include members of the Royal Ballet, Royal Opera House, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Academy of Music and Royal Academy of Arts.

For the first time, the royal patrons will come together, starring sex education star Ncuti Gatwa, who takes over as Doctor Who later this year, and Olivier Award nominee Mei Mac.

The concert will also feature pre-recorded video skits from Top Gun star Tom Cruise, Dynasty actress Joan Collins, adventurer Bear Grylls and singer Sir Tom Jones, who will recite little-known facts about the monarch.

The show will be hosted by actor Hugh Bonneville, known for his roles in the Downton Abbey and Paddington films.

In a statement last month, Bonneville said: “I am delighted to be part of this unique event celebrating the finest in musical entertainment in honor of His Majesty’s coronation.

“In true British style, rain or shine, this will be an evening to remember.”

Bonneville’s involvement was seen by some as a subtle nod to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who appeared alongside Paddington in her platinum jubilee sketch.

Strict star Oti Mabuse, guitarist Steve Winwood and honey lover Winnie the Pooh will also appear at the concert, while Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor will give a spoken word performance.

The concert will take place on the East Terrace of Windsor Castle. Last week, the BBC released a mockup of the artist.

The stage was designed “with a unique vision that responds to its historic site and occasion,” the firm said.

The stage will resemble the Union Jack, with the catwalk protruding from the centre. It will form the east facade of Windsor Castle and create multiple levels for the 70-piece orchestra and band.

As night falls behind the castle, its façade “will come to life with projections and light”, according to the BBC.

Coronation concerts are likely to draw large TV audiences, and those performers are expected to see a surge in streaming and sales as a result.

But some stars reportedly turned down invitations to perform at the coronation concert for logistical reasons.

Sir Elton John is currently on tour in Berlin, while Ed Sheeran will perform in Texas on Saturday.

Kylie Minogue has reportedly turned down an invitation to perform because of growing republican sentiment in her native Australia.

Other stars reportedly turned down include Adele, who lives in Los Angeles, Harry Styles and the Spice Girls.

Two of the performers at the concert — Perry and Ricky — are also judges on American Idol, which is currently in its 21st season.

Alanis Morissette and Ed Sheeran have been booked as guest judges on this week’s American Idol live show, as both will be at the coronation concert in Windsor.

But Perry and Ritchie will still be on the show, live via satellite from the UK, to see how the contestants are doing.

Tickets are distributed by Ticketmaster via public voting, but there was some controversy last month after some public voting mistakenly thought they won tickets After receiving a poorly worded email from the company. Ticketmaster emailed some applicants saying they had “successfully voted for a standing pair”. However, in order to claim their tickets, fans must click on a link included in the email order to redeem their tickets. When many fans saw the email and clicked through, they were disappointed to find they were all gone. Those who found out they weren’t actually successful, despite initially thinking they were successful, continued to vent their frustration and disappointment on social media. A Ticketmaster spokesperson said at the time: “Today, any unclaimed tickets are released on a first-come, first-served basis to those who previously applied to vote and were unsuccessful. These inevitably happen very quickly.” Tickets secured in the first two rounds are guaranteed, the company added.
