Henry Wang Huiyao, founder of the Center for China and Globalization, described the decision to send a Chinese envoy to Ukraine as “very significant”.

“China should actively mediate and participate so that people take this seriously and let people see that China can play a positive role,” he said. “It will improve relations with both European countries and of course with the United States.”
