Syria reiterates solidarity with Palestine – World News – Tasnim News Agency

[ad_1]

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement on Monday marking the 75th anniversary of the illegal establishment of the Israeli regime, which Palestinians refer to as the Day of Calamity, which is commemorated every May 15.

More than 750,000 Palestinians were forced from their ancestral lands in Palestine and 500 villages and towns were destroyed by Zionist militias before the Israeli regime declared its illegal presence. To this day, Palestinians are still bearing the effects of this catastrophe.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated in its statement that it supports the just cause of the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli regime and in their struggle for inalienable rights and the establishment of a sovereign and independent state with Al-Quds Al-Quds as its capital.

It called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities by condemning the Israeli occupying regime’s criminal attacks on innocent Palestinians, including women, children and the elderly, and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian embassy in South Africa organized a massive demonstration in Cape Town on Monday to mark the 75th anniversary of Nakba.

The event brought together representatives from various political parties, civil society institutions and organizations who took part in the rally to express their unwavering support for the Palestinian nation.

Faisal Aranki, member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), commended the South African state and leadership for their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, especially as Palestinians commemorate Nakba.

The Palestinian Ambassador to South Africa, Hanan Jarrar, also thanked all the participants and called their presence an outward expression of South African advocacy for Palestinian self-determination.
