Edge to showcase impressive defense offerings at Lima 2023 Olympics

Edge, a leading and fast-growing advanced technology and defense group, will be highlighting its technologically advanced defense solutions at the 16th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima) in 2023.

Showcasing a diverse product portfolio that can be tailored to the region’s specific requirements, in line with its ambition to expand its global footprint, Edge intends to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia by participating in one of Asia’s most important maritime and aviation exhibitions Force – Pacific May 23-27.

With a clear focus on autonomous systems and smart weapons, Edge plans to strengthen its partnerships in the local industry ecosystem, drive support for indigenous defense in key markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, and demonstrate its broad capabilities.

During the show, seven of Edge’s portfolio companies will showcase innovative solutions that provide a high degree of mission flexibility, demonstrating Edge’s advanced design and manufacturing capabilities in the areas of autonomous air and land systems, naval systems, precision-guided munitions and small arms.

In the area of ​​autonomous aerial systems, Edge will showcase the HUNTER SP (Soldier Portable) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), the Tube-Launched HUNTER 2-S Swarm Unmanned Aerial System and the REACH-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UCAV). QX-1, QX-2, QX-3 loitering missiles and GARMOOSHA rotor drone will also be on display.

Autonomous land systems and solutions will be represented by MILREM’s THeMIS Combat unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).

Edge’s advanced naval capabilities will include 160 ITEPs (Inshore Tactical Engagement Platforms), 120 FIPs (Fast Offshore Platforms), 510 OPVs (Offshore Patrol Vessels), and new frigates to meet regional requirements.

Edge will also showcase its multi-range DESERT STING air-to-surface precision guided munition, SKYKNIGHT anti-aircraft missile, AL TARIQ-S (standard range) and AL TARIQ-LR (long range) advanced modular precision-guided munitions, and RASH 1-M , RASH 2-H and RASH 2-M precision guided munitions systems.

For small arms and ammunition, Edge will showcase its CARACAL F pistol, CMP 9 submachine gun, CAR 816 assault rifle and CSR 50 sniper rifle, emphasizing an innovative approach to producing accurate, modular firearms. Additionally, Edge will be showcasing its full range of small-caliber ammunition, including 40mm, 60mm, 81mm and 120mm multiples and variants such as tracer, armor-piercing and full metal jacket. — trade arab news agency
