In the first eight months of 2021, nearly 16,000 new companies have joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, with a total of more than 275,000 members, a year-on-year increase of 68.5%.

Between January and August of 2021, the value of the ATA Carnet of International Customs Documents, issued by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and received by the country, allowing the temporary import of duty-free and duty-free goods reached 2.2 billion dirhams, an increase of 47%. At the same time, the number of ATA carnets issued by the Chamber of Commerce and received by the state increased by 5.1% year-on-year, reaching 2,188 in the first eight months of 2021. HE Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, said that the latest data reflect Dubai’s business confidence, economic competitiveness and the emirate’s growing appeal to investors and companies around the world. Membership growth is also the result of various business-friendly measures and incentives introduced by the government in recent years.

The 2020 Dubai World Expo and the recently announced “Top 50 Projects” aim to launch a series of new ambitious national strategic projects that will further promote Dubai’s growth momentum. Such projects are expected to promote the next stage of economic development in the UAE.

In addition, His Excellency Buamim emphasized that the Dubai Chamber of Commerce has been working hard to attract promising and innovative companies from all over the world, promote trade between Dubai and other markets, meet the changing needs of the business community, and implement Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid. Instructed by His Highness Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Chief of Dubai, to improve the competitiveness of the private sector.

Between January and August 2021, the number of electronic transactions processed by the Chamber of Commerce increased by 7% to 450,000, compared to approximately 419,000 in the same period last year.
