Islamabad [Pakistan]30th May (ANI): The army should have nothing to do with the governance of the country and anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a fool’s paradise, says former Pakistani prime minister and Pakistan Justice Instigation (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, Pakistan “Tribune Express” reports.

The PTI chief said he was currently reviewing the political situation, adopting a wait-and-see policy.

“First of all, I will appoint the vacant posts to promote young people,” he said. However, the PTI chairman expressed concern that new officials might also be detained, adding that he himself might even be jailed.

Asked whether his party had been weakened by the exodus of several party leaders, he said that, according to the Tribune, a party would only be weakened when its vote base began to shrink.

“When I lose my vote pool, my position will be weakened,” he said. “You might think this is a big crisis for me, but I don’t. In fact, we’re facing martial law. I wonder what they want from all this. Our economic indicators point to the worst Situation – case scenario.”

On his offer to talk to the government, Imran said he was “interested to know” how the country would benefit from keeping PTI out of the race. “I have told them [that if] You convince me what is best for Pakistan and I will agree,” he said.

Responding to a question about the May 9 incident, in which government buildings including sensitive military installations were attacked, Imran claimed he never said anything to his supporters that would lead to an incident like the May 9 things.

Asked about PTI’s slogan “Imran Khan is our red line”, the former prime minister replied that words like “red line” refer to a country without the rule of law, where people are caught.

“If they put me in jail in this situation, there will be a reaction. If they say Imran Khan is our red line, should I say I am not a red line? What should I say,” said the PTI chairman, according to The Express Tribune reports.

When, Imran asked, “have a political opposition, hold public meetings, raise people’s awareness and mobilize them for elections become an obstacle in the path of democracy?”

“Democracy ends when there is no opposition,” he added. (Arnie)
