New Delhi [India]May 31 (ANI): Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal aka “Prachanda” will be on a four-day official visit to India on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal has informed.

Dahal, who took office in December last year, will visit India from May 31 to June 3 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the visit, the Prime Minister of Nepal will also call on President Drupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Tenhar.

The Prime Minister of Nepal will arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 2.50pm on Wednesday.

Dahal will start his schedule the next day (Thursday) by laying a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi Ashram at 10.30am.

On Wednesday, Nepal’s prime minister scheduled a series of meetings, the most important of which was a meeting with Prime Minister Modi at the Hyderabad Palace in New Delhi at 11 a.m.

Dahal will also chair the exchange of agreements between the two countries and issue a press statement at the same venue around noon.

At 4 p.m., the Prime Minister of Nepal will call on Vice President Jagdeep Tenhar at his official residence on Maulana Azad Road. Thereafter, Dahal will visit President Droupadi Murmu in Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Apart from the official activities, on the second day of the visit, Dahal will also fly to Indore to participate in a program. He is also likely to visit Ujjain, according to the MEA. He will depart for Kathmandu on Saturday 3 June at 4.20pm.

A high-level delegation will accompany Nepali Prime Minister Dahal on his visit.

Prime Minister Dahal will also hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Modi on various areas of India-Nepal bilateral partnership, the foreign ministry said in an official statement.

Several other Indian dignitaries will also call on the Nepali Prime Minister.

The visit continued the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal to promote the “neighborhood first” policy.

Bilateral relations between the two countries have been significantly strengthened in all areas of cooperation over the past few years.

This visit shows the importance both sides attach to accelerating the bilateral partnership between the two countries. (Arnie)
