ABU DHABI, 3rd June, 2023 (WAM) — Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, Attorney-General of the UAE, affirmed that all institutions are committed to respecting and protecting the constitutional and legal rights of every citizen, resident and visitor to the UAE Territory.
In a statement today, the UAE Attorney-General said that all measures taken by UAE security entities and agencies are carried out in accordance with UAE law, under the supervision of the Public Prosecution as a representative of society, including monitoring when there is evidence of violations. recordings of conversations, telephone calls and correspondence are made and only with the exclusive approval of the Attorney General.
Dr. Al Shamsi noted that these procedures are carried out in accordance with the rules stipulated by the Constitution and the law, and are carried out under the full supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
He added that any violation of these applicable rules in the process of enforcing them will lead to accountability and severe penalties in order to protect individual freedoms and fundamental human rights in the UAE.
